about Visionary voices
VISIONARY VOICES is a half-hour literary television program that was developed to honor those writers who have made significant contributions to American literature. The series presents an eclectic range of writers across the cultural divide in a number of literary genres, including poetry, plays, fiction, nonfiction and prose. Each episode focuses on one writer, with interviews from experts, people who knew the writers, accompanied by photos and videos of the writers themselves.
VISIONARY VOICES is produced by the Intercultural Alliance of Artists & Scholars, Inc. (IAAS), a New York-based nonprofit organization that promotes multicultural literature and artistic expression. Seizing the power of television to expand social consciousness, the IAAS fuels the movement for progressive social, cultural and political transformation by exposing the public to perspectives excluded from the corporate-owned media through public access television.
